It feels like I didn't get out much during the winter. Granted, it seems like I took several trips during the winter and the rest of the time I didn't want to head out into negative tempertures plus it was always dark when I got home from work. 7 hours of sunlight is seriously way too little. So, a few weekends ago, while it was still a little cold, I headed over to Minnehaha falls in Minneapolis. I heard it was cool to see while it was still a frozen waterfall, and it was pretty cool. Since there was still quite a bit of ice and snow around, they had most of the trails closed off but I wandered around a little bit before I headed home again.
It was neat to see the waterfall frozen with only a little bit of water coming down. even where there wasn't water flow, the water that seeped out of the rocks froze around the rim making cool ice blue formations.
I'll have to head back in the spring/summer/fall and see it when it is actually flowing and I can wander around the trails on next to Minnehaha creek.
