I officially heard today that I made it onto a humanitarian trip to Guatemala. Yay! I had reservations about signing up since I've already been to Guatemala twice and there are just too many places in the world I want to see without needing to see Guatemala a third time. However, I have been looking for a humanitarian trip to go on for several years and this one fit the bill. It is the inaugural humanitarian trip by a charity organization (Singular Humanitarian) that was organized by single, professional adults in the DC area. I actually know several of the people who are on the organizing board.
So, off I head to Guatemala in August, again. I have to raise lots of money for this so if anyone knows of any good fundraising ideas, please let me know. More to come on different details of the trip as it gets closer.
This picture may look rather familiar (look above in the banner of my blog) but it is one of my favorite pictures from Guatemala. I took it on my first trip with Heather. It is a lake up near Tikal (Lago de Peten Itza). We spent some time out in the hammocks relaxing one afternoon across the street from the hut we stayed in.
