France, Take One

So I promised France/Belgium pictures this weekend but it was just too busy, so Monday morning will have to do. I'll try and put the pictures in some type of chronological order from our excursion. I don't have some of the pictures of sites with me so I'll just have to post those in other posts, escaping all attempts at chronological order.
So, this post...Everything on this post was all done day one, after we had flown the red eye into Paris. I didn't make it to the hotel till about 3 or 4pm after the flight delays and then navigating the trains and buses downtown to the hotel, where I met up with Joe and Michele. Our day started at the Louvre about 4:55pm, 5 min before it closed. We made it through everything else by the end of our night, including a quick 10-15 min in the Louvre, walking through the Tulleries, walking to the Arc de Tromph, walking to the Eiffel Tower, and then taking a Seine river cruise. Quite a feat since none of the sites are super close to each other.

The end of the Tulleries looking back

Climbing the steps of the Arc de Tromph

On our way to the Eiffel Tower

Notre Dame at night as seen from our Seine river cruise

The tower at night seen from the river. There is a light show on the tower every hour at night, hence the sparkles that usually aren't there.

Beautiful! I'll have to add Paris to my list of places to visit.
