Star Wars!!!

da.da.da.Daaa... Daaa... da.da.da.Daaa... Daaa... da.da.da.Daaa...Daaa...da.da.da.da

If you are wondering what I just wrote, don't be alarmed. You probably aren't the only one. Now sit on the edge of your seat with undying devotion and anticipation, picture the opening flash of the Star Wars logo with the John Williams score in the background.... do you see where I'm going with this? Opening score of Star Wars in my own personal Morris Code. You'd probably have to be as geeked out as me to know up front what it was.

Thanks to Angenette for prompting me to re-live my Science Museum of Minnesota Star Wars exhibit here on my blog. I went with Brian (thanks for taking me!) who was just as excited as I was about the exhibit... yes I am a geek sometimes but I can't help it. However, I didn't ask him if he was singing the theme song in his head like I was.

They had cool costumes, props, models, everything... from various movies episodes 1-6. The old school ones were the coolest though. Did you know that they had some pretty pimp costumes back in the 70's? Every costume they had displayed from the trilogy (there is no other true trilogy beyond Star Wars.... the next closest would be Indiana Jones... common link? Harrison Ford. And both series are seriously cool.) had a fantastic pair of gogo meets cowboy style boots. Of course Princess Leia's boots were shoe polished white to match her cool white outfit.

They also had an IMAX show about special effects that was pretty cool but I wish they showed more about the special effects in Star Wars (they talked a lot about other movies too). We went on a "Millennium Falcon" experience - replica inside of the cockpit of the Falcon and talked about galaxies, etc. We built robots and had them do things.... cool stuff like that.

Am I the only one that has noticed I'm saying cool a lot in this post? Maybe because the Trilogy is soooo cool I can't help it.

Anyways, I also related to Brian the cool Halloween where Matt was Obi with the braid down the back, Rach was Queen Amidala, and Shay, Ang & I were her handmaidens. Cool. That's just what we were. Especially since we made our own costumes.

I know you are all secretly jealous that I look so good as Princess Leia. You too can do a quick cut and paste on a photo and look just as good... probably even better... check it out here!
Ha ha ha! Now you too will be singing the Star Wars song in your head all day long like I have. Isn't life great?

Nat- you sure look like the real Princess Leia. I would have never guessed that the picture of you was cut and pasted. Anyway, it looks like it was fun.
