Tall Ships Festival

Yet again, another adventure with little commentary. And, yes, this is still playing catch up on the blog posts. What can I say? I had a fun-packed summer.

There is a fantastic festival every two years up in Duluth where a handful of Tall Ships come into port and we (the public) get to crawl around on them. I missed it two years ago, so I didn't want to miss it this year. I know it isn't as cool as when my brother, Joe, rode a Tall Ship around Europe, but I'll take what I can get.
I convinced several friends to come, including Mark & Amanda with their two twins, Ava & Wyatt. I forget how fun AND what a handful taking care of kids all day can be.
We stopped by Toby's on the way up to fill our tummies with some of the most delicious cinnamon rolls ever (except, of course, yours, Mom). I don't think we've ever driven up North past Toby's and not stopped. There was the time, however, over 4th of July when we were driving home and they were OUT of cinnamon rolls. I asked the clerk about 20 times if she was sure they didn't have more in the back. What a disappointment.
But, luckily, this trip wasn't close to a disappointment. The last ship we visited was the HMS Bounty - a replica made for the movie (a long time ago) Mutiny on the Bounty AND it was used in the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It is the boat on the right in the picture above and below.
