4th of July - Third Time's a Charm

Finally! This is the last post for the 4th of July extravaganza weekend that took us into Canada as well as the focus of this post.... the highest peak in Minnesota - Eagle Mountain.

Sounds amazing, right? All that hiking and sweating to get to the tallest point in the state. It's almost like Everest. Well... minus twenty six thousand, seven hundred twenty eight feet (that's 29,029 (Everest) - 2,301 (Eagle Mountain). Ok, it was nothing like Everest. And, sadly, in a state without mountains (although they claim they do), the highest we can get is 2,301 feet above sea level.
However, we did get some beautiful views as we trekked the few miles into the peak.
Sadly, the tallest peak is enshrouded by trees. This was the view from on top.
Disappointed face that this was all we got when we made it to the top.
More views when we actually could see something besides trees.
