Six months before I moved to Minnesota, one of the main thoroughfares through the Twin Cities, the 35W bridge, collapsed. I didn't think much of it since I wasn't here when it happened, except that the few times I wanted to get across the Mississippi river to the other side of downtown Minneapolis it was a bother to find another bridge to cross. However, a month ago while running the Ragnar Relay (another late post yet to be posted), we stopped right next to the park on the river that has been the graveyard of the wreckage since the collapse. I never knew it was there, but it was amazing to peek through the fence and see the twisted remains of what once was a major bridge across the Mississippi River. Monday, September 20, 2010
