Last weekend I somehow miraculously survived a second season on Survivor: Minneapolis. For those of you who haven't been reading my blog long enough to know or who have but just haven't cared to remember, Survivor: Minneapolis involves about 250 young single adults in my church from across mainly the mid-west. Essentially it is a life lesson in how to survive forced awkwardness for 2.5 days, starting with a fireside and broadway review Friday night, Seminars, workshops and a service project Saturday morning, 4 hour paddle boat cruise on the Mississippi Saturday night, and then church Sunday. None of it was too bad, and some of it was actually pretty good... once you employ special survival skills. You'd think that a 4 hour ride down the Mississippi would be fantastic, and it was, if you take out the forced 4 hours of awkwardness. Given the fact that I'm not the social butterfly that some of my siblings are, 4 hours was awfully long. Good thing I had some activities to keep me occupied...Including this... (Sam, Eliza, and Me with our moustaches)
And this.... (the night skyline of St. Paul as we came back in to dock)

I went to a mid-single's Conference myself last weekend and know what you mean. I enjoyed it, but didn't succeed in meeting a lot of new people.
