Tampa.... What?

A recruiter contacted me last week out of the blue for a position that I had no clue what it was and only a vague inkling that it might be in Florida since that is where the headquarters are. I finally talked to the recuiter again today about the position, which sounds pretty interesting. I'll just put it out there now that I'm not even sure if I will apply and if I do, if they want me. I'm just saying. But I was sitting here thinking.... I don't really know ANYTHING about Florida. Here are the few facts off the top of my head that I know:

  1. They have hurricanes
  2. It is humid there in the summer
  3. They have alligators (I've tried the meat before... not the best)
  4. Tampa is the home of the Buccaneers and the Devil Rays... and ummm... I think I might be missing some other type of pro team there
  5. They have the everglades there
  6. FL is the home of Spring Training (along with AZ)
  7. They have Disney World (which is good but I think isn't as good as Disneyland. Don't get me wrong... I loved every second there... I'm just saying...)
  8. They grow oranges
  9. I don't really like any of their college football teams

ummm... see?!? I'm seriously struggling here. I'm not sure I actually know really anything about Florida. I've only been there once.. to Orlando.. Disney World... I don't think that really counts. And flying through the Miami airport really doesn't count even though I was there more times than I should have been during my Barbados trip. But I guess I didn't know anything about Minnesota before I moved here either.

Warm weather and VERY VERY HUMID!! Not to mention it is as flat as a pancake!!! Never seen so many straight as an arrow roads in my life. I have driven all over the state except up the northern parts by Georgia.
