Have you ever had those moments where you should know someone, but you don't, and then you just end up looking dumb? Yep... that's me. I'll just state up front that I'm not a networker... or an extrovert. So, in that state, I'm not always up on the who's who of the who's who. Not that any of it is bad in and of itself. So, recently I met someone who I apparently should have known. Not to mention I did end up getting his last name and he's a dead ringer for his uncle. But did I even know who he was or put two and two together (which makes 4 by the way... I still can add). NO! Still clueless. I think this is sounding like it is adding up to a blonde moment again. So, in the course of our conversation I found out that it seemed like he traveled quite a bit and he was headed out of town this weekend to Japan and Vietnam. Well, still clueless me, afterwards I shot him an email and told him about Singular Humanitarian experience (http://www.singularhumanitarian.org/). And since he's 30 something and LDS and single it would be great to get him and his friends involved and go on an expedition this year. Ummm... yeah. Well, later I did a quick google search and what did I get... PAGES of results on him. And apparently his trip this weekend... oh, not for pleasure. He spends his time doing humanitarian work. He helps raise millions of dollars a year for a foundation that he does PR for. And I'm just Natalie sitting here just trying to figure out how I'll raise a few thousand dollars for the Nepal expedition in October. Oops :) My MBA should have taught me better to 1) pay attention and 2) do my due diligence first.
And no, I'm not going to tell you who it was.
