Only in Minnesota would they hold a festival to actually celebrate the cold weather. A few weekends ago, Jen and I headed off to St. Paul to catch the last day of the Winter Festival. The highlight of the festival is the ice sculpture contest. We tried to stay for the parade but it was too cold and we had other things to do that night. Somehow the day we decided to go, it was the first day in the last 1 1/2 months that we had a day that peaked above freezing. It actually got above 40 degrees... halelujah! However, it wreaked havoc on the ice sculptures so they were either all melted or falling apart. Oh well... it was still fun.
Cool! To bad it doesn't get colder out here so that the ice didn't melt. Hey, wait a minute. I like not freeze my behind off all winter long. Today it should reach 55 here.

Si, Senora. That was a very astute observation!

I guess that I should proof-read my comments before publishing them (i.e., freeze instead of freezing)
