Adventures in X-Country Skiing

I have some seriously funny stories from this weekend but those will have to wait… some maybe more so to protect the innocent from the scandalous admittance onto my blog… others will just have to wait till later this week, like my friend being threatened by a lady taking off her prosthetic leg and waving it at her… that still makes me laugh when I think about it! If I don’t end up getting it on, at least you’ve got the picture. Probably not so funny in the moment but absolutely hilarious when she told us the story.

So, on to this weekend. I finally made it out on my first skiing trip of the year! Ok, so it was only cross-country skiing but we had so much fun. Ryan, Jen & I had no clue what we were doing, just rented some skis and took off. At one point we faced the hill of death, which wasn’t pointed down (both Ryan & I are downhill skiers so we would have loved any type of hill) but it was pointed up. And although in reality it probably wouldn’t have been too bad in any other conditions, in this case it took us at least 5 min to figure out how to get up a steep hill with skis still strapped to our toes. However, in the end we still had so much fun. I haven’t laughed… or fallen… that much in a long time. Two days later I can still feel muscles that I didn’t even know existed. Well, not so true since I taught anatomy at BYU, but they still are sore!

I'm already up to 5 checked off the list! I need to get that ice fishing experience in soon b/c the ice on the lakes won't last too long.
