Last weekend, Carrie, Amanda and I decided to try our luck at this fantastic little streetcar diner on the side of the street in St Paul. Both Carrie and I had wanted to go there for a long time.Well, I drug them on a little shopping trip first for Eliza's bridal shower gift that I needed for the next morning which I hadn't purchased yet and THEN we headed to St. Paul for dinner. Late, I might add since first the shopping and then there was a huge wreck on the freeway. Carrie looked like she was going to pass out from starvation in the front seat.

Luckily we got her there just in time to partake of the goodness that is known as Mickey's Diner. So, really there is no just in time, it's open 24/7, but we got there just in time for Carrie to not die in my car. Like any good diner established in the late 1930's (it was put in just before WWII started), the food was down home cooking - artery clogging - blood pressure raising - deliciousness. D-Licious. The waitresses were VERY authentic too - complete with some missing teeth but bless their hearts, as sweet as could be.
Apparently it is quite the place to go (they had a whole list of famous people who ate there, including my teen heartthrobs, New Kids on the Block! as well as a list of movies it has been featured in. ) We were lucky to get a seat walking in, but not lucky enough to see someone famous.

Even the greasy tables & seats were authentic, huh?! Patrick and I loved eating there last winter... definitely an experience :)
I wasn't close to death but I was close to puking in your car...which would have been worse
