Surreality Meets Reality

I witnessed the most surreal thing last night. I stopped by a store last night on my way home from work to find an item that I needed (read: wanted). I had just finished browsing through the purse section which happens to be right through the front door when out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of what was the most fantastical scene I've ever witnessed in a store.

A lady came flying from out of the purse aisle, arms flailing in the air, full of purses, handbags, and wallets, as she barreled through the two front doors to the freedom of outside and into the parking lot. Of course she didn't bother to park too close so I could watch her bid for purse freedom through the store front glass windows as she maneuvered her body between cars in the parking lot... arms still full of purses, handbags, and wallets.

Oddly enough, as the lady is bursting through the door with the alarms going off everywhere, I may have been more astonished by the reaction of the store clerks. Not one gave her more than a fleeting look.... THEN WENT ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS! No one bothered to chase her or do anything else. They just looked then kept ringing up the customers in line.

It was all so odd. I wish I could have captured a picture of the lady with arms flailing loaded down with stolen goods.
