Yes, I am THAT good

Yesterday I hit a new milestone in my life. Since I made the career change from Chemist to Business and I work in an office instead of a lab, I like wearing heels. Those of you who have seen my closet know that I have a section of just heels for work. And most of those are black pointy toed stilettos. I happen to have a deep and abiding love for black pointy toed stilettos. There are a few pairs of brown in there and some shorter heels but not many. Let's face it. Pointy toed stilettos are sassy.

Yesterday at work I had to walk alllllll the way across the office building to the mail room to pick up a package since we had just moved office space and they couldn't find me when they were out on their rounds. On my way over I noticed that one heel felt a little funny. By the time I was nearly back to my desk I stopped in the hallway to examine it and... voila... I had broken the heel. Literally. It was off in my hand. And they were even one of my favorite pair that my nephew, Gigantor, had named my "French shoes". Not sure how he came up with that but since they girls in school like to call him Albert (for Einstein) he must have some creative juices flowing up top.

Well, walking in heels with one tall and one short wouldn't work so well. I'd look like I had a severe case of scoliosis. So, I did what any normal person would do. I pulled off my shoes and walked barefoot back to my desk. They guys in standing there in a hallway conversation gave me a weird look but I just smiled and said "I broke the heel off my shoe" and they laughed and ignored the bare feet. It was a little interesting walking out to my car in bare feet. Luckily I got there early and was in one of the closest parking spots available and doubly lucky that there was no snow on the ground. How horrible would that be to have to walk barefoot out of the office to your car all the way out in the looser lot in 2 feet of snow?

looks like we'll be shoe shopping for a replacement pair tomorrow : ) and had there been snow you TOTALLY could have asked for the hot single mail guy to carry you to your car
