Cell Phone Frenzy
It's funny how tied I am to my cell phone now that I have one. For years I was an adamant hold-out to get a cell phone. It wasn't till I was in my second year of grad school working on my MBA that I gave in and joined on my brother Joe's account with a family plan. So how does this tie to my life in Minnesota? My phone had been working throughout the day so I didn't think that it would just quit working on its own accord sometime between 3 and 8pm. Members of the Relief Society were bringing me dinner at 6pm to welcome me into the ward and they said they would call if they got lost. I never got a call and they never showed up so I figured that something had come up and they just couldn't come. Then I thought Steve might call during his break at work... no luck! Maybe he forgot about me too! Finally I put on a movie to spend the rest of the night wondering if everyone had forgotten about me. No.... apparently my phone wasn't working! My parents had tried calling, my brother Joe had tried calling, Steve had tried calling. All it took was a text from Joe to tell me that my phone wasn't working and I took out the battery, put it back in, and voila.... my phone was functional again. I had to call my parents to let them know I was still alive. Funny how dependent I am on my phone now... kind of lost without it.
